Analysts have indicated targets for Bitcoin's rate and predicted major trends in the cryptocurrency market.
By the end of 2025, the price of Bitcoin is expected to reach $200,000, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on Solana will be introduced, and the total capitalisation of stablecoins will grow 2.5 times. These and other events related to cryptocurrencies have been predicted by US brokerage firm Bernstein, according to The Block with reference to the organisation's report.
Bernstein analysts argue that cryptocurrencies will become an integral part of the global financial system, moving towards universal acceptance by corporations, banks and other institutions. On this basis, they highlighted a number of predictions for 2025.
By the end of the year, Bitcoin is expected to reach $200,000, driven by institutional and corporate demand, according to the firm's experts. The expected value of corporate investments in Bitcoin will exceed $50 billion next year, up from an estimated $24 billion by 2024. Companies such as MicroStrategy will continue to increase their Bitcoin holdings.
Bernstein estimates that Bitcoin ETFs will exceed $70 billion, doubling the volume from the previous year. The company also plans to approve an ETF based on Solana.
Mining companies are expected to accelerate the diversification of their activities into the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. Experts attribute this prediction to the success of miners such as Core Scientific and TeraWulf, which performed significantly better in 2024 than companies engaged solely in mining.
Analysts predict the development of AI-oriented blockchains, as well as the success of projects engaged in the integration of AI with crypto wallets and the development of AI agents.
The growth of the stablecoin market is estimated at over $500 million. This is attributed to the growth of the B2B payments market and cross-border transactions, according to Bernstein.
Changes are expected in the US regulatory framework regarding cryptocurrencies, in a favourable direction for the blockchain market. Bernstein believes that in 2025 it will be clearly defined which cryptocurrencies will be considered securities and that a number of ongoing legal disputes against crypto companies will be resolved.
Regulatory changes in the US will allow cryptocurrency platforms and exchanges to tokenize the stock market. They will also allow banks and asset managers to launch more products, opening up opportunities for traditional traders to trade liquid assets on blockchain.
The growing importance of Ethereum in 2025. The tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) will allow the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalisation to become a favourite among institutional investors. Bernstein also noted that traditional investors are attracted by the scarcity of Ether currency, as well as the growth of use cases in staking, smart contracts and other blockchains.
