Methodology
The index measures the percentage of the 50 largest altcoins by market capitalization that outperformed Bitcoin over the last 30 days. Stablecoins and wrapped, staked or bridged tokens are excluded because they do not represent independent market bets.
A reading of 75 or higher indicates Altcoin Season; 25 or lower indicates Bitcoin Season; values in between mark a transition zone. The index is recalculated live on every page load using CoinGecko market data.
The classic definition of altcoin season uses a 90-day window; our 30-day window makes the index more responsive to changes in market regime.
