The co-founder of Strategy (MicroStrategy) has added another batch of Bitcoins to his reserves. Between 10 and 16 March, 130 Bitcoins worth $10.7 million were purchased.
Strategy bought these Bitcoins at an average price of $82,980. According to reports, this is the smallest investment in cryptocurrencies ever made by the company.
MicroStrategy Continues Its Bitcoin Buying Race
Currently, MicroStrategy owns approximately 499,226 BTC, with an extraordinary value of $33.1 billion. The average purchase price per Bitcoin held is approximately $66,000.
In February 2025, MicroStrategy made its largest purchase, investing $2 billion in Bitcoin. At the time, the price of a single BTC exceeded $97,000. The purchase of this new lot thus follows the February acquisition.
This move surprised the crypto community, as the current price of Bitcoin is lower.

The crypto community speculates that this small purchase is because MicroStrategy is expecting additional capital from its share offering. The company is likely to make more purchases in the future.
MicroStrategy and the Financing of Bitcoin Purchases
Through a private offering of zero-interest convertible bonds, the company raised $2 billion last month. Most of these funds were probably used for the previous acquisition. Should further capital be needed, the company might slow down the pace of its purchases.
According to reports, MicroStrategy finances Bitcoin purchases by selling shares and interest-free bonds. Even if this strategy currently works, the company will need to maintain solid financial stability to ensure optimal earnings. A significant increase in liabilities could lead MicroStrategy to face difficulties in financing new acquisitions.
