OKX has stated that it will remove five altcoins from its spot trading platform as of 4 June 2025.
The decision, aimed at enforcing market standards, caused an immediate drop in the prices of affected tokens, with some beginning to recover.
OKX Starts Delisting Mode
OKX is in the process of removing several altcoins. Specifically, it plans to remove ZeroLend (ZERO), PARSIQ (PRQ), IQ (IQ), Artyfact (ARTY) and Samoyedcoin (SAMO) from the platform.
The removal of these tokens means that it will no longer be possible to trade them in the near future.
The affected trading pairs are: ZERO/USDT, ZERO/USD, PRQ/USD, PRQ/USD, IQ/USD, IQ/USD, ARTY/USD, ARTY/USD, SAMO/USDT and SAMO/USD. The platform will soon remove these pairs from its list.
The USDT/USDC trading pair will also be removed. Trading for all these pairs will end completely on 4 June 2025, between 08:00 and 10:00 UTC.
"To maintain a robust spot trading environment, we constantly monitor the performance of all listed pairs and regularly review their requirements. Based on user feedback and OKX guidelines for token removal or concealment, we will remove several pairs that do not meet our listing criteria," OKX stated on its official platform.
The tokens failed to meet OKX's stringent listing requirements, leading to the delisting decision.
The exchange confirmed that it constantly evaluates the performance of listed pairs and takes delisting actions when necessary to maintain a stable and reliable trading environment.
"Manage your assets in a timely manner. Once the delisting is complete, you will be able to find them in Assets > Untradable assets," the statement continued.
In preparation for the delisting, deposits for these tokens have been suspended at 6:00 UTC on 28 May 2025.
Withdrawals will be blocked as of 4 September 2025 at 8:00 UTC.
Investor concerns over reduced liquidity and accessibility caused an immediate collapse of all altcoins involved.
Samoyedcoin (SAMO) saw the steepest drop, nearly -15%. PARSIQ (PRQ) lost around 9% in value, followed by ZeroLend (ZERO) and Artyfact (ARTY), each dropping 4%. IQ suffered a minimal decline of 0.09%.
However, PARSIQ (PRQ) and IQ quickly recouped their initial losses, with PRQ up 7.9% and IQ recovering slightly by 0.4%.
The descent of the other tokens slowed. Delisting announcements such as this one regularly cause sharp market swings, as already observed in similar cases by exchanges such as Gate.io and Binance.
