Immutable co-founder Robbie Ferguson has revealed to the crypto world that the company is set to unveil the results of a billion-dollar partnership that we have been working on for more than two years.
The update released Tuesday on X immediately caught the attention of users and the crypto community, marking a major evolution for the blockchain gaming platform.
Several community members expressed enthusiasm about X, hinting that the announcement raised expectations among Immutable users.
Green light: announcement follows SEC approval
The long-awaited announcement comes after the conclusion of the SEC's investigation into Immutable's native token, IMX, and the company's approval by US authorities. Immutable had received a 'Wells Notice' from the SEC in November 2024, regarding suspected securities regulatory violations.
However, the investigation was closed at the end of March 2025 without enforcement action, allowing the company to continue with its plans.
"Now that the investigation is over, stay tuned as we will only accelerate from here on out," Ferguson wrote in an update on the regulatory development. Despite the SEC's attention, he added, Immutable has continued to grow, forging new alliances and expanding its ecosystem.
Immutable shows strong user and ecosystem growth
Ferguson also shared significant data on the expansion of the Immutable ecosystem. In the past year, the platform has welcomed five million users through its Immutable Passport service, a non-custodial wallet designed to offer simplified access to Web3 games.
He emphasised that, although there is ample room for growth, these users represent only 10 per cent of the current selection of games available on the network.
"After releasing only 10 per cent of our games, Immutable Passport went from 0 to 5 million users in 15 months. This was an important milestone, but we know that what really counts is the slope of the curve, not the current position. We still have a lot to do in the coming months."

Thanks to recent partnerships with prominent companies such as Tencent and Temasek, Immutable currently supports over 500 games active or in development. Ferguson emphasised the importance of long-term progress over current numbers, pointing out that the pace of growth is more valuable than the platform's current position.
