A powerful documentary on how Bitcoin and blockchain are reshaping money, power, and geopolitics—from El Salvador’s Bitcoin experiment and Europe’s regulatory revolution to the rise of decentralized finance and the new global financial order.
AgriDex ($AGRI), a Solana-based project, has been listed as one of the few platforms focusing on the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) in the agricultural sector. AgriDex aims to bring this hitherto opaque and inefficient marketplace to blockchain, considering that the global agricultural industry is worth $2.7 trillion.
Nick Dukoff Of Solana Foundation Highlights $AGRI As Key Project
Nick Dukoff, head of institutional growth at the Solana Foundation, recently mentioned $AGRI along with Baxus and Ondo Finance as active RWA projects in the Solana ecosystem. During a public event, he mentioned these teams as participants in Solana's ongoing efforts to expand RWA.
On-chain transactions of farmland and agricultural commodities are handled by AgriDex, the platform that powers $AGRI. These exchanges take place through Solana's fast and inexpensive network. AgriDex has already closed several transactions, such as shipping wine and olive oil from South Africa to London and selling farms in Zambia for $165,000.
Analyst of peak sees an extraordinary potential in AGRI
Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe shared his views on $AGRI, calling it a prominent project among RWAs. He highlighted the systemic inefficiencies in the agricultural industry and stressed the need for blockchain-based solutions to increase capital availability and transparency.
According to van de Poppe, AgriDex's approach allows global investors to distribute funds between different regions and generate income from real agricultural production.
He noted that although $AGRI remains a micro-capitalisation project, its active development and focus on the sector make it worthy of attention.
Agriculture Enters the Blockchain With AgriDex
AgriDex tokenizes agricultural assets, including land and export commodities, by turning them into digital tokens on the Solana blockchain. Users can buy and sell fractions of ownership of these assets via the platform. This method eliminates the need for centralised clearing systems or traditional brokers, allowing multiple parties to own a share of the same agricultural asset or property.
In traditional agricultural markets, access to finance and cross-border participation are often limited. Intermediaries, banking delays and legal complexities make trading slow and expensive. AgriDex solves these problems by using smart contracts to automate transactions and the transfer of ownership. Farmers and traders can thus interact directly with investors or buyers.
The platform is based on the Solana blockchain, which guarantees fast transactions and low network fees. Settlement times are reduced from days to seconds, depending on network activity. Compared to 3%-6% for international bank transfers or brokered transactions, AgriDex claims that the total fee per transaction on its platform is only 0.15%.
In addition, thanks to the Solana infrastructure, asset ownership can be tracked transparently and in real time. A recurring problem in agricultural commodity trading is counterparty risk, which is reduced thanks to this feature. Without the need for third-party verification, buyers and sellers can instantly view asset history and transaction status on-chain.
Solana's RWAs Include $AGRI, Baxus And Ondo
AgriDex operates within the Solana ecosystem alongside other RWA projects such as Baxus and Ondo Finance. Ondo Finance is creating US-backed blockchain-based financial products, while Baxus specialises in tokenization and trading of wines, spirits and government bonds. These platforms operate in different sectors, but all use the Solana infrastructure to perform on-chain transactions.
Agriculture remains one of the least represented sectors in blockchain-based asset tokenization to date. AgriDex is working to change this, making the transfer of agricultural assets more seamless and accessible by collaborating with other Solana-based RWA platforms, each focused on different asset categories.
