Brian Kelly founded BKCM in 2013 after experiencing a well-publicised conversion on the investment potential of Bitcoin and its supporting blockchain technology, an epiphany he recounted in his book The Bitcoin Big Bang.
As CEO, he has over two decades of experience managing global macro strategies, as well as building independent investment funds and investment companies from the ground up.
Brian is the portfolio manager for the BKCM Digital Asset Fund, an actively managed portfolio of digital assets.
He is a sought-after commentator: a regular contributor to CNBC, on Fast Money and other programmes;
he is a frequent speaker at cryptocurrency and blockchain conferences around the world.
In 2015, Brian was named one of the "30 Most Influential People on Bitcoin" by Inside Bitcoin.
During his career, Brian has specialised in trading multiple asset classes, cross-border investing and risk arbitrage, all crucial skills for managing alternative investment strategies.
Before founding BKCM, he was a co-founder and Managing Partner of Shelter Harbour Capital LLC, where he managed a Global Macro Hedge Fund.
He was also a co-founder of MKM Partners, a brokerage firm that caters to institutional investment managers.
Brian graduated from the University of Vermont and holds an MBA from the Babson Graduate School of Business. He has served on the Board of Advisors of tZERO Company, Wall Street Blockchain Alliance and The CME Bitcoin Futures Board.
