Guiding principle: money only ever buys visibility, never judgment. Badges fall into two families that never mix: trust badges and commercial labels.
Verified Identity
What it is: a paid service through which we verify objective, documented facts — the existence of the legal entity (e.g. VAT number/company register), ownership of the domain, official channels. The badge shows the date and expires after 12 months. Costs and details in the media kit.
What it does NOT mean: it is not an endorsement, not a guarantee of security or soundness, not a recommendation and not financial advice. You pay for the identity check, not for a judgment on merit.
Commercial labels: featured and sponsored
They indicate a paid commercial relationship (details in the media kit):
- featured: paid placement — the listing is given extra visibility, including among the top positions of the Directory on the home page.
- sponsored: paid content.
A featured or sponsored listing may still NOT carry the "Verified Identity" badge: they are separate things.
