Bubblemaps Launches Time Travel Against Crypto Fraud

Bubblemaps launches Time Travel, a tool to track suspicious activity and identify possible crypto scams by analysing the historical distribution of tokens.

announced on 29 May, Bubblemaps v2 arrives after a closed beta period that attracted over 200,000 users. New features include "Magic Nodes", which reveal hidden connections between token holders, and "Time Travel", a tool that reconstructs the history of token distribution, potentially revealing suspicious insider activity or coordinated hoarding.

"Historical data in the cryptocurrency world is notoriously hard to come by, buried by a constant stream of new transactions," said Nicholas Wyman, CEO of Bubblemaps.

"Time Travel changes everything. It's like watching the Big Bang, from the first burst of the bubble to the full deployment," he added.

The application allows users to rewind the entire history of a token and its evolving distribution structure, which can help detect "early signs of manipulation or coordinated sales," explained Wyman.

Identifying tokens whose offerings are concentrated in a few wallets can help investors spot a scam known as "rug pull", in which insiders withdraw liquidity or execute a massive sale, crashing the price and leaving investors with worthless tokens.

A significant "rug pull", for example, occurred on 16 March, with the sudden collapse of WOLF, a token inspired by The Wolf of Wall Street, created by Hayden Davis, co-creator of the official Melania Meme (MELANIA) and the Libra token.

The memecoin lost 99% of its value in a matter of hours, almost wiping out a market capitalisation that had reached $42 million. More than 82% of the token's offering was held by a single entity, a huge wake-up call in the crypto world.

Bubblemaps proved instrumental in detecting suspicious activity on wallets related to several memecoins, including the Melania token and several fake Eric Trump themed tokens.

Welcome to the "InfoFi" Era for Web3 Users

Bubblemaps says its solutions are helping blockchain structured data become the foundation of the "new financial layer of cryptocurrencies", contributing to the rise of information finance (InfoFi) by providing investors with more advanced forensic analysis tools.

"Solana has proven that real-time transparency is no longer an option, but a necessity," said Wyman.

"This fits perfectly with the InfoFi movement, offering users tools to turn raw blockchain data into clear, actionable information," he concluded.

The platform is integrated with some of Solana's most popular protocols, including Pump.fun (for the memecoin launch), DEX Screener, Photon and Bullx, which will become the main analytical tool for the Solana blockchain.

Bubblemaps v2 also enables exploration of the Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Tron and ApeChain blockchains.
