From MIT to MicroStrategy CEO—why he moved corporate cash into Bitcoin and shifted Wall Street.
Dusk has announced its innovative DuskPay payment system, part of its blockchain protocol designed for regulated and privacy-focused financial applications.
Italian authorised online gaming operators PlayMatika and BetPassion were the first in Europe to implement the DuskPay system to make compliant digital payments, marking an important development in the adoption of blockchain within regulated industries.
DuskPay enables regulated businesses to make real-time cross-border payments while remaining fully compliant with European financial standards. This revolutionary solution has the potential to transform online gaming, offering a secure and efficient payment method that complies with all regulations.
The CEO and co-founder of Dusk, Emanuele Francioni, said:
The initiative benefits from strategic partnerships with NPEX, operating as a regulated exchange in the Netherlands, and Quantoz, an electronic financial institution dedicated to the issuance and monetisation of the on-chain digital euro.
The Italian gaming and betting industry generates more than 150 billion euros per year, with online gaming accounting for nearly half of the total, making it an ideal testing environment for DuskPay.
With the anticipated implementation of DuskPay, PlayMatika demonstrates that blockchain technology can operate effectively within strict regulatory frameworks, maintaining compliance and delivering fast and efficient user experiences. Founded in 2023, PlayMatika serves more than 20,000 active users and has more than 300 outlets across Italy, operating under a GAD 15411 licence.
PlayMatika CEO, Lorenzo Lombardi, said:
The launch of DuskPay comes alongside the rapid growth of the European digital payments industry. Market analysts predict expansion from $91.2 billion in 2022 to $410.7 billion by 2032. According to experts, transactions via mobile devices will reach 3 trillion USD already by 2033. The reduction in the use of cash across the Eurozone increases the need for programmable, secure and fast payment options such as DuskPay.
The integration of DuskPay by PlayMatika and BetPassion highlights the huge potential for blockchain adoption in regulated industries. Dusk is pursuing strategic partnerships with various enterprises to promote the blockchain-based payments infrastructure in different sectors.
As a privacy-focused blockchain for financial applications, Dusk sets new standards in terms of compliance and control, while promoting collaboration between enterprises. Its core mission is to enable companies, regardless of size, to collaborate at scale while complying with the strictest regulatory standards and protecting all personal and transactional information.
