Hamster Kombat Launches Blockchain Layer-2 For Gaming

Hamster Kombat introduces the first dedicated Layer-2 blockchain for gaming on TON, offering scalability and reduced costs for Web3.

The Telegram-based game, Hamster Kombat, is expanding with the launch of a Layer-2 blockchain. The company announced the news on 25 February 2025.

Hamster Kombat stated that The Open Network (TON) is the backbone of this gaming-focused blockchain.

Hamster Kombat unveils Layer-2 blockchain

Hamster Kombat has emerged as the first Layer-2 solution entirely focused on the gaming community. This news marks a milestone in blockchain gaming within the TON ecosystem. Hamster Kombat's goal is to provide scalable solutions and a low-cost infrastructure for decentralised gaming applications.

According to a post published on X (formerly Twitter), the company will leverage the TON ecosystem to enhance the Web3 gaming experience. Hamster Kombat expressed enthusiasm for the launch, highlighting its collaboration with The Open Network (TON).

"We are excited to announce the launch of Hamster Network, the first gaming-focused Layer-2 blockchain built on TON!"
Hamster Network will provide an extremely fast and scalable infrastructure for decentralised apps and games. It will also ensure negligible transaction costs, enabling developers to deliver a complete Web3 experience through a TON-based Layer-2 solution."

Hamster Network is supported by TON's virtual machine, ensuring full compatibility with its smart contracts. This allows developers to migrate their decentralised applications to Hamster Network without the need for further modifications.

In addition, the system includes an integrated wallet, a decentralised exchange (DEX) and a canonical bridge. According to some reports, many developers are already creating new gaming experiences on the platform.

The entire gaming and cryptocurrency community has enthusiastically welcomed the project, stating:

"At last, a blockchain ready to run on the gaming track-let's just hope the hammers don't get distracted by shiny objects!
With all that scalability and low fees, it could be the turbo boost developers have been waiting for."

Hamster Kombat is also allowing users to test the product through the "Hamster Boost" programme, which allows testers to experiment with the blockchain and earn rewards. This will ensure that the system is robust before large-scale deployment.

Telegram aims to strengthen its involvement in the TON ecosystem and the launch of Hamster Network is confirmation of this. Recently, Telegram announced TON as the official provider of its crypto infrastructure, increasing the potential for adoption.

With 1 billion Telegram users and its Web3 integration, now supported by Hamster Network, the platform could become a dominant force in blockchain gaming.

Hamster Network's low fees, high speed and wide compatibility make it a mainstay of the Web3 community.
