What BitCoke is
BitCoke was a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange active since at least 2019. It presented itself as the first to offer "quanto swap" perpetual contracts, initially on bitcoin, ether and EOS, with margin in several cryptocurrencies and leverage of up to 100x, which can wipe out capital even with small price movements. In 2022 it also offered spot trading and an OTC service and had issued its own token. In May 2022 the company had announced 20 million dollars in funding led by Huobi (now HTX) and, in June, an investment arm, BitCoke Ventures, with a stated fund of 300 million.
Regulation and licences
(Verified: October 2026)
- MiCA: NOT APPLICABLE — the exchange stopped working in 2022, before MiCA began to apply to crypto-asset service providers (30 December 2024); it does not appear in the ESMA registers.
- CONSOB (Italy's securities regulator): no blocking order for the name BitCoke or for the bitcoke.com domain in the notices from 2019 to October 2026.
Security
There are no records of cyberattacks: the case is a freeze on withdrawals, which began in the days of FTX's collapse after more than 24 hours of failed withdrawals reported by many users. According to crypto.news, BitCoke had announced a feature for exchanging assets ("Account Push") for 18 November; it is not known whether it was ever activated. The website later became unreachable, the app can no longer be downloaded from Google Play and in July 2023 the domain was up for sale. The outcome of the investigation is not known (Verified: October 2026).
Headquarters and contacts
- Stated headquarters: Cayman Islands (presentation text on the website, 2022); the press described it as based in Hong Kong. The company that ran the exchange is not identified in the sources consulted.
- No active official website: bitcoke.com no longer hosts the exchange (Verified: October 2026).
