Arthur Breitman is a French computer scientist, a former Goldman Sachs quant and then vice president at Morgan Stanley. In 2014, under a pseudonym, he published with his wife Kathleen the Tezos position papers: a blockchain able to upgrade itself through on-chain votes, designed to solve the governance problem that had split Bitcoin and Ethereum. After a record 232 million dollar ICO in 2017 and a phase of legal conflict with the Swiss foundation, the Tezos network went live in 2018 and is today one of the longest-lived proof-of-stake blockchains, with formal verification and more than a dozen protocol upgrades behind it.
