The Telegram-based game, Hamster Kombat, is expanding with the launch of a Layer-2 blockchain. The company announced the news on 25 February 2025.
Hamster Kombat stated that The Open Network (TON) is the backbone of this gaming-focused blockchain.
Hamster Kombat unveils Layer-2 blockchain
Hamster Kombat has emerged as the first Layer-2 solution entirely focused on the gaming community. This news marks a milestone in blockchain gaming within the TON ecosystem. Hamster Kombat's goal is to provide scalable solutions and a low-cost infrastructure for decentralised gaming applications.
According to a post published on X (formerly Twitter), the company will leverage the TON ecosystem to enhance the Web3 gaming experience. Hamster Kombat expressed enthusiasm for the launch, highlighting its collaboration with The Open Network (TON).

Hamster Network is supported by TON's virtual machine, ensuring full compatibility with its smart contracts. This allows developers to migrate their decentralised applications to Hamster Network without the need for further modifications.
In addition, the system includes an integrated wallet, a decentralised exchange (DEX) and a canonical bridge. According to some reports, many developers are already creating new gaming experiences on the platform.

Hamster Kombat is also allowing users to test the product through the "Hamster Boost" programme, which allows testers to experiment with the blockchain and earn rewards. This will ensure that the system is robust before large-scale deployment.
Telegram aims to strengthen its involvement in the TON ecosystem and the launch of Hamster Network is confirmation of this. Recently, Telegram announced TON as the official provider of its crypto infrastructure, increasing the potential for adoption.
