Ripple Wins Big, XRP Stays at $1: Where Does the Value Go?

Ripple settles Treasuries with JPMorgan and launches in Japan with SBI, yet XRP stays pinned near $1. Garlinghouse hints at a possible IPO benefit for…

In 2026 Ripple settled a tokenized Treasury with JPMorgan, deepened ties with Deutsche Bank, launched its stablecoin in Japan with SBI and began turning itself into a full-fledged bank. One institutional win after another. Yet XRP, the token, stayed pinned near a dollar and change, below every relevant moving average. That disconnect is not a flaw. It is the whole story.

The spark came from a June 2026 interview on the "Crypto In America" podcast. Asked whether XRP holders could get something from a future Ripple listing, CEO Brad Garlinghouse did not shut the door. He said "maybe," adding "but not in the immediate term." The community turned four hedged words into a promise. Precision matters: Ripple equity and the XRP token are legally separate assets. Holding XRP gives no shareholder rights, dividends or company stake.

Why doesn't XRP move when Ripple wins? Because the wins increasingly flow through RLUSD, its stablecoin, and through the XRP Ledger used as infrastructure, not through the token. In the JPMorgan settlement, the settlement asset was RLUSD, not XRP, because institutions cannot put a volatile asset like XRP inside a payment process. The token is left paying the network fee, a few cents.

This does not make XRP useless: it secures the ledger, pays fees and acts as a bridge in the native DEX. But the value of the institutional wins flows first to the company, then to RLUSD, and only slowly to the token. The real catalysts for XRP are the CLARITY Act, compounding ETF inflows and utility turning into token demand, all aligning together, not a maybe wrapped in another maybe.
